 Product Area: Salesforce integration

Impact of Change:Easier, scalable, and dynamic Salesforce setup

Roles Impacted: Support, Implementation, and customers who’d like to set things up on their own.

Details

We’ve revamped our Salesforce integration, introducing a more user-friendly interface that allows customers to easily set up the integration themselves. Additionally, we’ve addressed several of the key challenges our users previously faced.

Here’s a look at the major improvements:

  • Support for Multiple Salesforce Accounts: Previously, only a single Salesforce account could be connected to each SpotDraft instance, preventing multiple Salesforce accounts from being linked to a workflow simultaneously. That’s now a thing of the past.
  • Expanded Object Support: We used to support contract creation from only three native Salesforce objects—Opportunity, Account, and Contract. We’ve now expanded support to include any object that customers need.
  • Improved Data Fetching from Nested Fields: Data retrieval from nested fields was previously limited to just one level down, with additional restrictions like no support for custom objects. We’ve completely re-engineered this to be far more versatile.
  • Simplified Setup Process: The old setup process involved multiple screens, making it difficult for customers to complete the setup on their own. We’ve streamlined the process so you now only see what you need when you need it.
  • Streamlined Field Mapping: Previously, basic field mapping was spread across four screens, and more complex mappings required even more steps. Now, everything is handled on a single screen, saving time and reducing confusion.
  • Dynamic Tables: One of the biggest pain points was mapping columns for dynamic tables—crucial for Salesforce’s CPQ capabilities. The old approach made this task cumbersome. With our revamp, it’s now smooth and straightforward.

Now, users can experience a Salesforce integration that’s more self-serve, scalable, and adaptable than ever before.

How to Enable:This is currently rolled out and can be enabled per workspace on request.
