Problem Addressed:
When contracts go through multiple rounds of negotiation, tracking changes across non-consecutive versions has been a manual slog. Users often needed to compare, say, Version 1 (original draft) with Version 7 (final version) to understand the full arc of changes - or compare Version 3 (pre-legal review) with Version 5 (post-finance review) to isolate specific feedback rounds.
Previously, SpotDraft only auto-generated AI revisions for the latest uploaded versions with previous version. If you wanted to compare any 2 versions, you had to use the manual in-app comparison feature - which meant reading through redlines yourself and piecing together what actually changed. Time-consuming!
Solution Overview:
You can now select any two DOCX versions from your version history and generate an AI-powered summary of changes between them!
Here's how it works:
- Head to the version history panel on any contract;
- Toggle on the compare mode
- Select any two DOCX versions you want to compare
- Click "View AI revisions"—and boom! AI generates a clear summary of what changed between those specific versions
Important Callouts:
DOCX Only (For Now): This feature currently works only for DOCX versions. PDF support is coming soon!
