Approval for Contracts Executed Offline
Feature Name: Approval for Contracts Executed Offline
Product Area: Approvals
Impact of Change: New Functionality
Roles Impacted: Legal teams, Compliance teams, Workflow administrators
Problem:
When contracts are executed offline (signed outside SpotDraft), uploading them and marking as "executed" automatically skips all pending approvals. This creates a compliance gap—there's no way to ensure legal validation before contracts are marked complete.
What's New?
We've added a new approval type that triggers when someone uploads an executed contract version. If you need legal or compliance sign-off before marking contracts as executed, even when they're signed offline - you can now enforce this validation step!
Key Points:
- Closes compliance gaps: Perfect for IPO prep, financial services, or any team needing audit-ready governance
- Invisible to standard flows: Only triggers when someone uploads an already executed version - your normal e-sign workflows are unaffected
How to Enable:
This feature is being rolled out gradually. If you are interested in getting this enabled on your workspace, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
